How To Clean Camera Lens Nikon
I often get enough of grit behind the rear element of my Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8G lens. While for the nearly part it does non bear upon my images, after my concluding trip to Utah, I concluded up with a big dust particle that somehow fabricated it into the lens. Nikon only removes dust from lenses if you lot pay for the service, because the normal lens warranty does not encompass dust removal. I did not experience similar waiting for a couple of weeks and paying a hefty sum to get mine cleaned, then I decided to do information technology myself. In this video, I volition bear witness you lot how to remove dust from the rear element of the Nikon 24-70mm f/ii.8G lens in less than 5 minutes.
Alarm: Opening your lens will void your warranty if Nikon finds out you lot did it. This video is Not for beginners. Practise not effort this if yous have a couple of small dust specks in your lens. See my "what to do with grit inside lenses" article for more data.
DISCLAIMER: I take Cipher responsibility for whatsoever potential damage that y'all might cause equally a issue of opening the rear lens element. Exercise THIS AT YOUR OWN Risk.
Now for the brave souls that make up one's mind to do this: the process is actually fairly simple. Get-go out in a clean, dust-free room. All yous need to do is remove three screws from the rear wall of the lens mount, then gently lift the rear lens element and use a rocket blower to remove the dust from it. You tin also remove the grit from the next lens element that sits inside the lens. But zoom out to 24mm and so that the element moves downward towards the rear, so blow off the dust from it using the same rocket blower. Be very careful during the procedure and make sure non to impact any lens parts or lens elements from the inside. When using the blower, keep a rubber distance, and so that you exercise not accidentally hit annihilation. Do Non endeavor to blow off the grit with your breath or canned air – use Giotto's Rocket Blower instead. When putting the screws back, don't over-tighten them.
